In 2013, the Varn family expanded to include a pellet mill. Only the residuals

from the sawmill are used to produce wood pellets. They are made by

grinding the chips further. They are then combined with shavings and

sawdust and heated further to dry to less than 10% moisture and then

pelletized into the end product.

These pellets are sold as fuel to the European market with the following certifications: PEFC Chain of Custody Certified (SCS Certificate Registration Number: SCS-COC/PEFC-008519) and Sustainable Biomass Partnership(SBP) (Certificate Code: SBP-04-20).
